On Easter Friday, I keep hearing in my head, “Hail Mary, full of grace, blessed art thou among women…” and it just kept going on. One does not have to be Catholic to love Mother Mary, as she is a Western aspect of the Divine Feminine. I was also inspired to make a healing flag for a friend of hula sister who is undergoing cancer treatment and I thought it would be nice for her to have Mother Mary to comfort her. First thing I did, was email my hula sister and ask her if she was Catholic. And she is! I was in luck. I can now make a Mother Mary flag!

I first was inspired to make deity flags when I bought my first Tibetan prayer flags and thangkas. While I love the thangkas, they are expensive and once they find a place in your house they stay. I needed one to take on my travels to Asia, and it would not be practical to fold up a thangka and carry it with you. These deity flags are travel size smaller versions that still could beautifully decorate a space while being handy for traveling. One could move them from room to room or bring it on a trip out of town.

I had brought the first ones that I made of Divine Mother and Medicine Buddha on a trip overseas, and I really felt their positive, healing and protective energy when I placed it in different hotel rooms I stayed in. Most of the flags are empowered with mantra in the back of the flag. They are perfect for your meditation practice in any room in the house and even outdoors. All of them can be rolled up and stored in your bag to bring to where you want.
